Active Nutrition International GmbH (ANI) operates social media presences on the platforms Facebook, Instagram, Strava, Pinterest and YouTube. In general, social networks can comprehensively analyse your user behaviour. This applies in particular if you use the corresponding networks to visit our social media sites. Site operators can process your visit and assign it to your user account. Even if you are not logged in, a collection may be possible, for example, via your IP address, browser details, through the use of cookies or other tracking technologies.

The personal information collected can be used by the operators of social networks to create profiles. Among other things, your (presumed) interests and preferences may be recorded in order to display personalised advertising.

ANI is not able to track all of these data processing operations within the social networks and generally does not have access to this data. Please refer to the respective privacy statements of the networks for further information.

Below you will find information on data protection on the respective portals.

When you use our Fanpage, the following personal data is processed:

2.1 Usage data and statistics

When you use Facebook and call up our social media profile, personal data is processed by the operator of the social network. This includes e.g. information on views of pages, posts, videos, stories or other content associated with the fan page, interactions with a story, subscriptions, likes of posts, recommendations of posts or comments, sharing, reactions or comments of posts, notifications of posts or on hiding posts, to click on links on other pages leading to the fan page, hover over names or profile pictures to preview content, click on buttons on a fan page and on the device (computer or mobile device) you are logged in with, view and respond to events, click on a link for event tickets, to initiate a messenger conversation, to calls to Fanpage shops, including information on such actions such as date and time of action, country/city (estimated from IP address or imported from user profile for logged in users), language code (from browser HTTP header and/or language setting), Age/gender groups (from the user profile, only for logged in users), previously visited web pages (from the browser HTTP header), whether the action was taken on a computer or on a mobile device (from the browser user agent or from app attributes) and the Facebook user ID (only for logged in users). This data is processed by Facebook as the operator of the social network and cannot be viewed by us. 2.2 Facebook Insights

We only receive usage data in aggregated, i.e., summarised, form via the Facebook tool "Page Insights" (https://www.facebook.com/business/a/page/page-insights and https://facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data) ("Insights data"). We cannot assign the Insights data to you in person.

We and Facebook are so-called "joint controllers" for the processing of the Insights Data. This means that Facebook and we process this data with the joint purpose of learning about the usage behaviour of visitors to our fan page. Facebook, as the operator of the platform, collects the detailed usage data from you; we only receive the summarised insights data from Facebook. Therefore, only Facebook makes decisions about the processing of usage data in connection with Page Insights. In the event of such joint responsibility, the EU General Data Protection Regulation requires that we enter into a contract with Facebook. It contains further details and explanations on joint responsibility with Facebook in the context of Page Insights.

We process this data for the technical administration and provision of the fan page, and in order to obtain statistical information about the use of our fan page as the operator of the fan page.

The legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our interest here is the administration and improvement of the fan page. Other legal bases specified by Facebook may also be relevant for the processing of personal data by Facebook.

2.3 Likes, Posts und Messages

When you use our Fanpage, the following personal data is processed:

 

  • Your Facebook username and profile picture,
  • your click interactions with our posts ("Likes", "Shares", "Subscribe", etc.) and
  • Your comments, posts, messages and other content that you provide to us on the Fanpage.

 

This data is processed to provide you and the other users of the Fanpage and our other media offerings, your content, the Fanpage and the Fanpage experience.

The legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest here is to interact with our followers and other interested social media users on our social media offers, to increase the reach of our products (advertising) and, if applicable, to respond to your request.

2.4 Contacting and other uses of our fan page

If you contact us via Facebook, the legal basis is a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest is to respond to your request.

3. Use of our Facebook Shop

We also use functionalities on our social media profiles on Facebook that enable the advertising of our products (so-called "Facebook Shop"). In doing so, you receive basic information about our articles via Facebook.

When using the Facebook Shop, Facebook may collect personal data. The explanations described under Chapter 2. apply accordingly.

Our Facebook shop is only used to advertise products. In the event that you wish to purchase products, you will be redirected to our external shop page. 4. Data transfer into the USA

In order to provide the Fanpage on the Facebook platform, your personal data will be processed by Facebook Ireland Limited and transferred to Facebook Inc. in the USA (as well as other third countries, as shown at https://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php). This concerns the categories of personal data (I.), the respective purposes (II.), the recipients of personal data (III. and IV.), the legal basis (V.) as well as information about your rights and how to exercise them against Instagram (VI.). 2.2 Data processing during interactions on our Instagram profile

Our Instagram profile offers you the opportunity to follow our profile and interact with our posts, in particular to comment on them and send us private messages. When contacting us, please check whether you would like to send the relevant information via Instagram, or another contact option may be considered.

Please also note that - depending on your privacy settings - we can access the information stored in your profile just like any other user.

If you contact us via Instagram, the legal basis is a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest is to respond to your request.

2.3 Processing anonymised data for statistical purposes

We have set up our Instagram page as a business profile and use anonymised page statistics provided by Facebook Ireland ("Instagram Insights"), which provide us with insights into visitors to our Instagram page and their interactions with our Instagram page and its content. We do not contribute to the decision-making on the means and purposes of processing event data used to generate page statistics. The statistics include the following information:

 

  • Reach, page views, time spent on video posts
  • Interactions such as tagging a post with "like", commenting or sharing posts
  • Demographic information such as age, gender and location

Instagram processes the data for measurement and analytics purposes. We receive aggregate statistics from Instagram and use this data to identify trends. It is not possible for us to link back to individuals who triggered these events.

3. Use of our Instagram shop

We also use functionalities on our social media profiles on Instagram that enable the promotion of our products (so-called "Instagram Shop"). In doing so, you receive basic information about our articles via Instagram.

When using the Instagram shop, Facebook may collect personal data. The explanations described under Chapter 2. apply accordingly.

Our Instagram shop is only used to advertise products. In the event that you would like to purchase products, you will be redirected to our external shop page. 2. Information on the processing of personal data on Strava

Strava basically allows you to create a profile and process activity and usage data. This data may also be made available to ANI as the operator of a Strava profile, e.g. in the course of challenges. Some of the information provided to Strava by the user could also qualify (at least indirectly) as health data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR.

The information is used by Strava to operate and customise the services for the user. This concerns e.g. performance analyses or the use for participation in the social components of the Strava network (e.g. clubs, comments, points, etc.). This may also include profiling to improve the personal user experience and to obtain information about interests and activities. This information is also used to optimise Strava and to market activities on Strava and other commercial products or services.

Strava also aggregates data provided by users to post publicly or share with third parties. This includes, for example, data about devices, usage, demographics, distances and performance. Strava may use, sell, license and share this aggregated data with third parties for research, business or other purposes. The aggregated data can no longer be linked to you as an individual.

Strava also shares information about members with other entities. This includes service providers who provide services to Strava, such as supporting, improving, promoting and securing the services and processing payments or orders. Information may also be made publicly available, especially parts of the profile according to privacy settings. Information is also shared with third parties that are integrated with Strava services, as well as third parties that collaborate with Strava by offering an integrated feature, such as a challenge sponsor or tracking watch.

3. Information on the use of cookies by Strava

When you visit Strava - independently of our Strava profile - Strava places cookies and similar trackers on your device. In addition, if you are logged into Strava as a user, Strava is able to track that you have visited our Strava profile and how you have used it.

YouTube offers the possibility to statistically record the views of videos. In doing so, we do not contribute to the decision on the means and purposes of the processing of event data used to compile page statistics.

YouTube processes the data for measurement and analysis purposes. We only receive aggregated statistics and use this data to recognise the reach of our video contributions. A reference back to persons is not possible for us.

4. Processing of personal data when interacting with our posts/videos

YouTube offers you the possibility to interact with our contributions, in particular to comment on them. If you contact us via the comments, please check whether you want to send the relevant information publicly via YouTube or whether another contact option comes into consideration.

3. Processing of personal data for statistical purposes by Pinterest

When using Pinterest, personal data is collected by Pinterest for statistical analysis, among other things. This includes log data, cookies, device information as well as clickstream data and inferences.

In addition to this technical information, your activities on Pinterest may also be recorded. This also concerns activities outside of Pinterest, for example with cooperation partners such as advertisers, advertising partners or third parties.

4. Processing of personal data when interacting with our posts.

Pinterest offers you the possibility to follow us as well as to interact with our posts, in particular to like, bookmark (in pinboards), share or comment on them and to send us private messages. If you contact us via the comments or via a private message, please check whether you want to send the relevant information publicly via Pinterest, or whether another contact option comes into consideration.
