Do it yourself – recipes for the new ENERGIZE MUFFINS

PowerBar® is celebrating 30th birthday this year. Therefore, we basically give a birthday cake to ourselves. The new ENERGIZE MUFFINS provide not only 20g of carbohydrates per muffin through the special carbohydrate mix C2MAX as usual, but are also easy to digest even during long physical activities. And the best is that we still leave you with plenty of scope for your own creations by letting you add ingredients to your preference. But what can you add? What does not only taste great but is still easy to digest? Our nutritionist Tanja Rasputniac shares tasty recipe ideas for the Chocolate muffins for you to try out:

Chocolate Muffins Raspberry-Coconut: 

What you need:

1 pouch ENERGIZE MUFFIN in the flavour Chocolate (1x 133g)

80ml water

9 fresh raspberries (depending on size approx. 40g)

1 tablespoon coconut flakes (approx. 5g)

Baking instructions (for approx. 4-5 muffins):

Mix muffin baking mixture according to the instructions on the packaging. Cut raspberries into half or quarters depending on size and add them together with the coconut flaxes to the muffin dough. Fill everything into the included muffin cups and bake for approx. 17 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat in the oven or put them into the microwave for 40 seconds.

Banana-Chocolate-Muffins:

What you need:

1 pouch ENERGIZE MUFFIN in the flavour Chocolate (1x 133g)

80ml water

3-4 dried banana chips (depending on size approx. 12g)

Baking instructions (for approx. 4-5 muffins):

Mix muffin baking mixture according to the instructions on the packaging. Split banana chips into smaller pieces and add them to the muffin dough. Fill everything into the included muffin cups and bake for approx. 17 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat in the oven or put them into the microwave for 40 seconds.

Cinnamon-Chocolate-Muffins

What you need:

1 pouch ENERGIZE MUFFIN in the flavour Chocolate (1x 133g)

80ml water

Grounded cinnamon according to preferences (here: ½ tea spoon equals approx. 2g)

Baking instructions (for approx. 4-5 muffins):

Mix muffin baking mixture according to the instructions on the packaging. Add cinnamon to the muffin dough. Fill everything into the included muffin cups and bake for approx. 17 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat in the oven or put them into the microwave for 40 seconds.

Chocolate-Nut-Muffins

What you need:

1 pouch ENERGIZE MUFFIN in the flavour Chocolate (1x 133g)

80ml water

1 heaped teaspoon of chopped almonds (approx. 5g)

Baking instructions (for approx. 4-5 muffins):

Mix muffin baking mixture according to the instructions on the packaging. Add almonds to the muffin dough. Fill everything into the included muffin cups and bake for approx. 17 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat in the oven or put them into the microwave for 40 seconds.

Tipp: The muffins look especially nice if you put some of the almonds on top of the dough before baking.

Coffee-Chocolate-Muffins

What you need:

1 pouch ENERGIZE MUFFIN in the flavour Chocolate (1x 133g)

80ml coffee or espresso

Baking instruction (for approx. 4-5 muffins):

Mix muffin baking mixture according to the instructions on the packaging but replace water with the same amount of coffee or espresso. Fill everything into the included muffin cups and bake for approx. 17 minutes at 180°C top and bottom heat in the oven or put them into the microwave for 40 seconds. 

Tip: By adding coffee you get an additional little caffeine-kick. Even 75mg of caffeine can boost mental focus and alertness. Therefore caffeine is known as a mental performance booster among athletes. One cup of espresso for example contains between 28-43 mg of caffeine depending on the type of coffee bean and brewing method.

Here some more tips and tricks for you:

  • Muffins look especially nice if you use a muffin baking tray.
  • The smaller you cut the ingredients the better they distribute in the muffin. Heavier pieces can sink to the bottom.
  • Depending on the ingredients you use, please keep in mind that the best before date may change!
